This modular photo collage template was created for the FOCAL (Free and Open-source Creative Art Library) project during the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2020.
The Objective
To create a reusable, stylish photo collage template that allows users to easily drag and drop their own photos without complex editing.

The Design Technique
The key feature of this template is the use of layer masks and clipping groups in GIMP. Instead of manually cropping each photo to fit a shape (like a diamond or circle), users simply place their image into a specific layer group, and the template automatically masks it to the correct shape. This makes the template highly reusable and user-friendly.

I created a tutorial to demonstrate how to use this masking feature to quickly populate the collage with personal photos.
