Envelope Template Design

This project was part of my work during the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2020 (Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education). I was tasked with contributing to the FOCAL (Free and Open-source Creative Art Library) by creating reusable design templates.

The Objective

The goal was to create a professional Envelope template that anyone could download and customize using free software like Inkscape.

• Tool Used: Inkscape 0.92.4.

The Tutorial

As part of the deliverable, I also created a video tutorial explaining how users can customize the template—changing colors, logos, and text to suit their brand.

Learning Outcome

This was my first time designing an envelope, which required understanding standard dimensions, fold lines, and safe printing zones. It was a practical exercise in "design for utility"—making sure the file was not just beautiful, but usable by others.
